About Bayou Microfund<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Bayou Micro Fund, a non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation that provides interest-free micro loans to Under-served, Un-bankable Entrepreneurs, was launched in 2014 in an effort to expand the presence of micro-lending opportunities in Houston, Texas.<\/p>

We are a Kiva Trustee<\/a> and manage the Kiva Houston Hub<\/a>. We also collaborate with TiE Houston<\/a>, a local entrepreneurial organization, to educate, fund, and incubate micro-entrepreneurs. The\u00a0seed of the\u00a0idea for Bayou Microfund came from a talk<\/a> that founder Prasad Menon made at a TiE event several years ago and stemmed from experiences earlier in his career. Our micro-funding initiatives are achieved through a combination of Kiva<\/a> micro-funding and Partner Bank loans in Houston. It is our hope that through continued partnerships, we will accelerate micro-lending and create a vibrant micro-finance community here in Houston.<\/p><\/section><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
